If the Italians dont get him,it seems like going by the past few weeks, that there papers etc will make any story up, to make sure it looks as though no one else will get him.i just give up on any everton transfer at the minute as we are signing everyone without actually signing them-at least we know we have to get someone players in the next 4 weeks instead of this going on for months like the last few months

I'll say again, if he didnt have at least an interest in coming to Everton then it would be all over the press that there was no deal and it would clear the way for Juve to make a deal.

However not only have Zenit accepted our offer, Witsel and his people have reached agreement with Everton despite several revisions along the way.

Juve said this morning that their final offer was €20 million plus €2 million in bonuses.
That remains €8 million short of our offer.

Once it is wholly established that today's offer by Juve is final and they will not match our offer Witsel will sign for us.

Yes... Sounds like we might have a end to this saga and a positive end

Where did you hear that? I've no idea how reliable FourFourTwo is in all fairness.

I did wanted him but by this point I'm indifferent. He's a good player but nothing extraordinary from what I've seen. Certainly not so good that we should be held to ransom or messed around indefinitely.

Esk and a few of the 'itk's on TEF said we got a lot closer to Witsel last week mate.

Not saying it's a definite but the deal does seem to have progressed.

And Witsel is one of those that is the level that would definitely improve on what we have, but isn't 'world class' either - so basically exactly the type of player this squad needs to improve the first XI. As it stands, he's better than all of our midfield options bar Barkley.

This, really.

It's clear he wants out of Zenit. Yes, Juve probably is his choice but we would have heard/read something about it not being us if he didn't fancy it.

Thanks for the update i do appreciate you coming on and giving us the latest news to the best of your knowledge. An i dont think its fair that you are critised when some thing does come off exactly as you have said.

However i do question why the club are still persuing this transfer as during this draw out saga it has been made clear that yes he might have terms agreed to join us but he will not accept (sign) them until he has ensured every other option has been explored and dismissed. It doesnt exactly fill me with enthusiasm that he wonts to come. Id rather we move on to other targets.

I think we should be pushing on with trying to get carvalho instead although that seems to have gone cold aswell.

Tbh mate haven't really seen much of him to have an opinion of him. II'll take your word on it though.

if juve are playing 3-5-2 you have to throw hernanes in the mix.

theres 7 good players for 3 cm positions and there going tho spend. What 30mil on another one I don't think so.

Good player mate.

Hernanes is supposedly being shipped off, along with Pereyra, but even so that still leaves

Marchisio (though he is injury prone), Lemina, Pjanic, Sturaro, Asamoah and Khedira.

I do think they'll go for another midfielder like, but won't pay massively over the odds - so I suppose we'll see.

Putting pressure on him to accept our offer whilst he thinks there's still a chance of Juve is the wrong tactic in my opinion as it may trigger him publicly rejecting us leaving the way open for Juve.

We have to wait until Juve make it clear they can't match our bid. If today's final offer is their final offer then we are close to conclusion.
