Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

Well all of the players we have are defensive mids mate. There's only Barkley who can really have an effect going forward, followed by Cleverley.

Witsel can do both and by the looks of it Koeman's system needs a player who can drive forward from deep but also offer protection as well.

Witsel fits that mould.

and he is a leader which shouldnt be underestimated in the need of having those in our squad right now

I'd probably take him, but his wages are a major put off. I fear that Everton's new rich owner will leave in the future and put us in a major bad spot in terms of finances.

I don't mind him spending cash, but try and keep the wages affordable incase something bad happens.
Are you for real. I've have 20 depressing years as an Everton fan. Every summer, hardly spending a penny waiting for free's and loans. Buying players from abroad no one has heard of.

Moshri comes in and wants to spend big money on players, wages, new stadium. And your worried it may go tits up in 10yrs
FFS
Unbelievable

Add Williams and you could be on your way to having a team who show passion and skill also.
Not only was it a great team, but that mid 80s team had a side full of leaders. Nev, Radcliffe, Reid, Gray, sharp.
Comparing it to the side nowadays in leadership terms is like night and day. To my mind only Barry is the natural leader on the pitch. As you've stated Williams and witsel would not only address our lack of quality in their respective positions but also leadership on the pitch.

Dream scenario would be all of Williams, Koulibally, Witsel and Carvalho all coming in to the spine of the team, but any combination of one of those cb's and one of those cm would massively improve us beyond recognition
Koulibaly and Williams replacing stones for the same amount of money would be fantastic business. It would still leave us significant funds to strengthen other areas.

It won't tho, if and its a big IF Moshiri leaves say within 5-10 years, then Everton will be great financialy. The new stadium could change that alone. Plus TV deals, and any other income. The PL is the richest league in the world.

Our wage bill is fine pal, don't worry about it.
£100k a week is mental, yes, but is the going rate if you want good players.

Sorry lads, I had read from another website that we would be paying him 200 grand a week. Even 100 is mental, but I can probably live with it.

I can't bare becoming Manchester United and giving somebody 1 million a month to kick a football around... (Rooney). We have not seen the damage of when an owner leaves after going mental on the wage bill, and that's what worries me with Everton... although I hope our new owner is here for years to come!

Basically - yes. hopefully we do similar in the cm, shift Cleverley and McCarthy to fund in large part bringing in say Witsel and Carvalho (long shots on both arriving i know)

Stones, Cleverly and McCarthy leaving and those 4 coming in - and we'd likely only be out of pocket by 30m maximum - meaning we should have enough left over to bring in a few needed squad players/second striker and a high calibre keeper, getting these deals over the line seems to be the tricky part though...

But who would take these two?

Stones has been rubbish fro two seasons???? :D

Is that why he was the subject of four bids from the then champions last summer?

I've heard it all now. He had a poor spell after Christmas, picked up an injury and came back in March to a side that was deflated and had lost faith in the manager.

He had a shocker in the derby and made a few errors last season, but was ace in the first half of the campaign and put in a world class display at Wembley in the semi final.

Give your head a wobble, please

No ta. Using it in context of saying McCarthy had 2 poor seasons means we need to spend £30mill on a minor upgrade for a feller who isn't exactly chomping the bit to get here.

Stones is pure talent that needs nurturing. Having bad seasons doesnt mean they're bad players when theres talent there.
