What, so you think Moshiri is the one doing all of those things?

He has been key in getting the stadium plans pushed forward.

He has installed a team (Walsh/Koeman) in place to deal with the playing side of it.

They and their respective teams have been and are working on several deals. Everton is pretty much a closed book these days and that's why any information re. signings more often than not comes from one of the other parties. Just because we can't see it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Due to a colleague who has close ties with Swansea, I know a bit about the Williams deal. Enough to know we've now met Swansea's valuation (which they kept changing) twice and that the player is more than happy to join us. If Swansea hadn't been playing buggars we'd have had him signed by Thursday. As it is we could well still have it wrapped up early next week.

But, that's not to say we don't have plenty of other targets, most of which will not have been reported by the media or picked up by any 'itks'
This Feels true to me. A quiet revolution behind the scenes.

Also, we are not the only club struggling to ges signings over the line and the new money has had an inflationary effect on player price. I think clubs are wary as they don't really know how to value players. If that is the case you would wait and watch the market develop. I think a lot of dealing will be late on in the window.

the club can't win though.

we could go out and buy 5 players the equivalent of Gueye's level to improve the squad for a combined £25mil, yet fans wouldn't be happy we aren't spending money.

Wrong. We need to add to the squad, if we signed a couple more from the 5-10m class of player you'd see a lot less concern around. Sure, we all would love a marquee signing, but a few interesting new additions from a similar level (mid-table quality league) to add competition is better than one reserve keep and one relegated plodding midfielder.

Sorry that's not true is it? We all know if we added a few more like gueye then people would be saying the exact same thing

it's smart advertising and a feel-good feel around the club? that's not particularly hype, that's fans been happy that we look to be moving in the right direction...
.

Defoe a feel good factor around the club, think some of it would have had to do with Moshiri being a billionaire, and the calibre of players we were being linked with, you only had to look at the reaction when Moshiri took over, it was all about us having loads of money to spend ( even though Moshiri never hinted at that) on boss players etc, it was all "we should try and get him now we've got tonnes of cash"

I dont think many would be thrilled with adding players of £5-10mil.

Tbh i didnt even get a tingle when we were linked to Draxler.

Imagine:

Deulofeu -- Barkley -- Draxler
................. .Lukaku

Set for a decade...yet not even a tingle

I said signing players at a level similar to what we've got now (mid-table quality league), plenty of which are available in the 5-10m price range if we include the other quality leagues. Gueye played in one of the worst relegated teams in living memory.

But even a couple more Gueyes would at least give the squad a refresh after losing Osman, Hibbo and Pienaar.

The dire frame of mind the players were in during Martinez's tortured final few months will still be a factor when their team-mates are pretty much the same ones. Fresh blood does wonders for motivation and morale.

If you type out the squad we already have enough players...we just need to sell a few and replace them with top quality.

Squad fillers wont help.

The major fume should be centred around the lack of a top keeper. Theres no excuse

Disagree with the first bit, I do think we need a few more squad-fillers at the level Osman, Hibbo and Pienaar were on back when they were decent (not talking about McGeady or Niasse levels here).

It's a lottery anyway, look at how much Mahrez cost Leicester. But if you don't play the lottery, you won't get anything back.

Agree on the goalie situation...it's become stupid. No other word to describe it.

We leave such things to you, Zat.

Take my word for it....

Garbutt
Oviedo
Gibson
Clev
Niasse
Mcaleny
Mcgeady
Mccarthy possibly
Niasse
Kone

Probably more too if i think on it....

All need selling and replaced with better than we have ar 1st choice to push the 1st choices into rotation.

Agree, and see my post above why we need new blood (and why they don't have to be 30m-rated)
