Kit deals aren't about how many kits you sell. They are about getting the brand known.

Under Armor (who?) pay Spurs £10m a year because they want you to pay £60 for a pair of their trainers that cost them £5 to make.

I refuse to believe that in an era when every other similar club are bringing in huge amounts in commercial deals we are uniquely unattractive.

We live in a world where the media utterly refuse to acknowledge our existence at times. This is from TODAY:

5th placed team missed out. Just the tip of the iceberg.

So why should kit manufacturers treat us any differently than the media does?

Under Armour are a huge company in America that have made NFL jerseys for years. Spurs get loads of money because they are an attractive London-based team.

Can't wait for a Everton anthem jacket made by Umbro! So long till july :-(

It's things like this I'm looking forward to, the kits will take care of themselves, you never see the players come out in warm up jackets, every other team seems to do so. Villa at the weekend did, Liverpool the week before did...

Everton dont have the motive to deal with that, because it's not Everton that stand to gain from fixing it. The club get 3M p.a. for 10m years whether x amount is sold or x+ amount are sold.

I dare say in 2019 when the greatest screw up in Everton commercial history comes to an end the club will do all it can to get merchandise where it's needed.

Not true. The club do get a cut of sales over a certain amount, which we did do in the first year of the deal. Don't know about the second.

Small correction--UA are a newcomer, but have great financial support and are aggressively marketing to teams in multiple sports. Spurs were a great choice as they look to enter the "Soccer" market at relatively low cost (how much do Arsenal get in the Puma deal?). The NFL, however, only has one official jersey supplier (exclusive contracts at least since 2002), and it has never been UA. Under Armour has aggressively marketed to US College Sports teams and is looking for new markets like soccer/football, but never as NFL's jersey supplier.

The rumours a few pages back says that the home kit will be like the 95 kit, away black and third purple. Can't wait to get a look.

That's a joke to be honest. We know we're not winning the league, but we also know the sh!te, spurs and United aren't winning it. It's agenda driven and completely disrespectful to the club. This is one area Alan Myers needs to be making strong representations to his former employers and lobby them relentlessly until they acknowledge where we are in the league. And bo!!ocks to all this under the radar stuff as well

Nice curtains by the way

Remember why the club ditched Umbro for Le Coq Sportif.
Everton have developed a love hate relationship with Umbro over the years. Umbro has been Everton’s official kit manufacturer for 1974-1983, 1986-2000 and 2004-2009. The delayed release of the new Everton home shirt this past summer must have been the last straw for the club and its fans. The shirts were delayed by Umbro until late July because of quality control issues experienced in the Far East where the shirts were made.

Thats why Kitbag is there; any delay doesn't hit the club in the pocket, its Kitbags problem. They'll be required to sort any such mess out but it won't affect the income to the club

Umbro is decent enough, they've made some classy looking kits in recent history. I only have one of their jerseys but it feels less comfortable than the nike ones. We're also going to be one of their biggest teams so they're going to want to make our jerseys look good and unique.

this pretty much

my nike kits seem to feel like they fit better and are more comfortable them my most recent umbro kit.

Hopefully they have come some way in the last 4 - 5 years and give us something of quality

Not sure if this info has already been posted but I have it on good authority from an Umbro employee (Umbro office is at the end of my street, so know some people there) that they beat off Nike and Adidas in the tender process for the deal. They've also signed a deal with Hull to make their kit from next year and are in advanced talks with another premier league team. Their main focus over the coming years is going to be to get as many English teams wearing Umbro as possible.
