Baines Flattered by United Link

He said we'd have £8m and that there would be outs.

That £8m figure goes out of the window if somebody like Baines goes, a lot of it could end up going to the banks.

well we all pretty much expected to buy no one anyway so if wet all the 18m and 8m we had goes to the banks we're still better off. if well sell anichebe and yobo theres another few mill.

if we end up with 20m to spend thats at least a new left back, pienaar, donovan and a new right back.

I refuse to believe this until LCAB or THT say something and their last word(which was today) was that there was no contact from united and the player himself does not want to leave, as well as the fact that Moyes has the final word. I don't think he's leaving at all.

Moyes CAN pick a player that much we do know.

So as long as he gets to reinvest the money I'm actually quite confident we will go I to the new season with a much better quality squad. Probably not with a better LB then Baines, but a much better all round squad.

No transfer saga a la lescott, no last day deal with no hope of getting replacements a la arteta. The fee is decent and being honest, we as good as knew one of our big names would go. As gutting as this is and as hard as it is to do, with Bill et al in charge we should be thanking our lucky stars for the above. We can do our business early for once and we have the money to do some good spending.

I'd still sell Rodwell if a bid of £8m came through and still hope someone buys Anichebe and Yobo and then we could see what Moyes is like with a good £20m to blow and time to do it in.

It would Howard Kendall-esque.

First time around, we took a lot of average players, blended with a touch of experience and bonded into one of the best teams the top flight has ever seen.
These average players then went on to be international players in their own right.

Is there a left back we would pick/take above Leighton right now? That's the thing. We need to get lucky and find the best of the next generation, if he leaves. Fingers crossed.

Spot on. Let's do any deals sooner than later. Do we say that every season??!!

If we do have to sell Baines, Fabian Johnson would be a perfect replacement from Hoffenheim, US intrantaional, with great attacking prowess, but a comfortable defender as well.

From what i can tell Fox and LCAB get their info from different people, having said that they're both very reliable.

I was told a month or so ago that somebody big would be going this summer and that price tag for Baines doesn't surprise me at all really.

I think he'll be gone.

Aye, Jesus wept. Moyes will be lucky to see a third of it. Kenwright will be hedging Moyes to pull another rabbit out of the hat bargain. This thread is getting Fuk¡n unbelievable.
