Is it a new brand from Heinz?!

BAINEZ MEANZ HEINZ.

We played some fantastic football without Baines towards the end of the season, and a big name was either going to go this season or next season for sure.

I'd have been far more upset if Fellaini was the one going. Get rid of Big Vic for £2m to Wigan, and Yobo for £2m and you've got £22m. Lets say we give the banks £7m of that, still leaves Moyes £15m to bring in new players. As long as Moyes avoids another Bily and brings in talent like Distin/Heitinga/Jelavic/Gibson/Pienaar with those funds then we'll still be worth watching.

I mean Gibson, Jelavic, and Pienaar (first transfer) combined cost the club less than £10m. Moyes can work wonders.

Our crap starts to the season are a far bigger concern on that front really.

Agreed.
I'm not going to cry like a girl just because a business I support is selling in order to improve.

Ha, we spunk the lions share proceeds from the sale to bring back player who pretty much now has no future resale value and may I add flew the nest because he and his agent needed another big pay day, all to warm their bench. Nice forward thinking there lids.

John Heitinga - "He (Leighton Baines) is a fantastic player, I hope he stays at the club, but I understand there´s interest elsewhere" #EFC

It's not a fecking business, ffs. This is precisely the damage Kenwright has done to our fanbase that we think like this.
Sadly, some have been brainwashed by the feckless mate. We sell players that just come into their prime and keep or trade over the hill the donkeys. We deserve better.

It's nothing to do with 'forward thinking', it's the reality of being a selling club.

I also struggle to see how you think £4m or thereabouts for Pienaar is the 'lions share' of £18m, and how Pienaar is 'over the hill'. A player with that much natural skill on the ball will be a worthwhile member of the squad for years to come.

It's nothing to do with being 'brainwashed' either, it's just accepting where we are and trying to look at the positives of the situation. £18m pays off the banks for another season and will allow us to improve the squad depth, something we are severely lacking.

Moyes will lose a fantastic left back in Baines, but could purchase 3 good players to strengthen positions in which we have been lacking for YEARS.

And in the process, weakening the LB spot in which we have been thriving for years.
