Hard to imagine what we'd be like now without his goal threat.

I'll be joining yer if it does. What saddens me more than anything is many on here don't realise, as said a few pages back is they are unwittingly supporting the current selling regime, and they quite happily start discussing replacements for one our most liked and best performers like they mean absolutely nothing to them.if baines is sold ill be walking my little dog on a saturday afternoon royston lad, until that b@stard has left r club , 44 years ive been going as well mate ,so so sad whats happening to my ie are great football club

If and apparently when our Bainesy is sold to the Mancs, it will be a truly sad day in the history of the club. This is not like Lescott or Rooney at all from what I can gauge. Both of them wanted out and they can [Poor language removed] off for all I care, we survived without them anyways. But when you are essentially forcing out a player who loves the club just because another club meets the price tag we put on him shows just how fare we've fallen.
If Moyes doesn't get the entirety or at least the lion's share of the money from united I could seriously see him walking. Some may point to the Carroll scenario at Newcastle but that was silly silly money for a replacable (by better players in Ba and Cisse). Unless you want to spunk 30 mil on A$hley Cole or Phillip Lahm there is no way you can replace a player of Baines' quality. And plus, 18 million for one of the top 5 players globally in his position is no longer fair market value. Baines should be worth at least 25 million to the club, maybe more. I really hope we don't sell him, but if we do, we just have to move on as a club as best we can and hope that Moyes (provided he sticks around) can do his very best. I for one will be gutted
Two small points.
1) Rooney didn't want out, his head was swayed by his agent, he did and still does love this club very much.
2) It can be argued that without the sale of Rooney and even more so Lescott, we would be up s**t creek.
