Beer, revisited

Drank a fair few of these recently both on cask and at home in bottles and can't knock the stuff at all.

Pleasant malty flavour, nice balance of hops and a decent price to boot. Not a session ale as such but a fair few are rather enjoyable.

Where do you get it, like the sound of that ?

The Handyman on Smithdown Road, which to be fair has a really good selection of beers available and a nice atmosphere.

Their pale ale is £3.40 a pint, their IPA (5.5% on tap) is £4 p/p and they usually have at least another three of each of cask, tap and lagers on respectively.

I've driven past a few times, but yet to go in.

I'll put it on my list of places to visit.

Cheers ;)

Definitely worth a visit. To be fair, Smithdown is finally getting a much needed revival that it needed after slipping down into a bit of a cesspit.

With places like The Handyman, Craft Tap, the Willowbank and Kelly's all selling cask and a nice balance of students I've had a good few nights.

Haven't been myself but you can occasionally sample the Peerless beers.

Good to see some favourites represented and plenty of new ones to go on the 'must try' list courtesy of you lads over the pond.

Enjoying a bottle of this slick little number at the moment:

Well recommended if you see one. Then tomorrow I'm gonna be like a pig in filth. Off to Grillstock, which is a BBQ/Grill and Music festival down on Bristol harbourside, Burgers, Chilli cook-offs, Pulled Pork.. all that good stuff. And Brooklyn are over running the bar and one of the music stages (http://grillstock.co.uk/brooklyn-bars). This time tomorrow I'll be full to burstin' with beer and red meat and getting ready to stick 'em up punk for the The Fun Lovin' Criminals.
That glass looks like it comes from my set of whisky glasses. From the four corners of the base does it have two hard edges and two round edges that reach up to the round rim?
