£3.75 a can, better be tastier than ambrosia.Decided that I'd earned a quick one after a long day and cracked one of these open, very nice and smooth. Slight smokiness and a sweetness to but not sure I could distinguish plum. Would have again.

Signed. Need to protect the little fish before they have a chance to become a middle sized fish let alone a big one. It's worth signing this:
Archived Petition: Reverse the change to Small Brewers Relief.
The Treasury has announced changes to Small Brewers Relief (SBR) – the progressive tax system that has revolutionised UK brewing. These changes will reduce the 50% duty threshold from 5,000hl to 2,100hl: small breweries will have to pay more duty, whilst larger breweries could pay the same or less.petition.parliament.uk
In short, the bigger breweries (Timothy Taylor's, Harvey's etc) are making the smaller breweries pay more tax.

Just found it, then got banned. Such a shame.Just found this beer thread. It's great.
Why do most bars, when you ask for a draught bitter serve it in the widest glass that they have.?
It's my pet hate. The pint always goes flat.
I will swap it for a Carling glass or a tall slim one.
They ( barpersons ) always look at me and nod their head while walking away.
I’m struggling with that third paragraph. As someone who's worked in the industry most of my life off and on, including time in a brewery, I can say with some confidence that may well have been sage advice some years ago but in the highly varied and vibrant beer culture of today is largely irrelevant.
My grandad was a wise soul as well, he was more of the school of thought that you should find things out for yourself rather than stick to the dogmatic beliefs of people who can't get their heads round the fact that the world moves on.
He was also one of the only Liverpool fans I've known that wasn't a raging knobhead and insufferable goon.
I look forward to your contributions in the thread and hope you can expand your palate while adding to the collective body of knowledge.
Cheers.
Seems unlikely I know but he was genuinely one of the most humane, honourable, humble and ethical people I've ever known. Born and bred in Liverpool, socialist to his core, recipient of numerous medals and commendations for naval service during WW2. LFC fan all his life, long time match-goer, was at Heysel, never attended another match after, he was getting on a bit then but I don't think he ever really felt the same way about football after that. He watched them on the box and was happy enough when they did well but was also the first to point out their faults. Always had the utmost respect for Everton and congratulations and healthy ribbings would be exchanged on derby day. He was a good man and I loved him dearly.I’m struggling with that third paragraph.

I can only imagine what he'd make of them having an 'official grooming partner'.
Back on topic, he loved his ale did me grandad
Nice one, hoping they do the MT again, really keen to try that.
Bit of style over substance maybe?I had one last night. It was nice but not as nice as I'd hoped that it would be. I suspect it was reflected in the price point as for an Impy and a 440ml can £4.20 was relatively cheap compared to others of a similar style. I suspect the BA stuff will be superior and am going to try and get some later.
I had a great Iron Bru sour on tap from Vault City earlier in the year, brought a bottle back with me. Be interested to know what that pineapple/chilli one is like.Bought some of these earlier

The VBM sounds immense.
