Beer, revisited

Fancied something special

It's a Belgian lambic beer. It's like the champagne of the beer world, it can only be made in certain parts of Belgium. I think it's one of the oldest beer styles, going back centuries

This one is with apricots so it's quite tart and refreshing.
Sounds delish. I'd never heard of it but will definitely keep an eye out for that style. Are there any other beer types you'd compare it to?

Where did you get it mate ?

The only place I`ve ever drank Lambic beer is in Belgium.

It`s beautiful stuff and certainly not one to glug down.

It's hard to describe unless you've had it, but I'd say it's not far off the taste of (proper) cider and white wine but with a bit of a beer taste too.

My brother's gf doesn't drink beer but loves the lambic/gueuze style.

Waitrose sell it one of the style, they also sell a sweetened cherry version (you can also get it non sweetened which is more sour and tart.)

Cheers.

One thing about the lockdown, is that it seems by default, beer lovers have been given the opportunity to hunt out and try stuff that they wouldn`t normally have tried.
The likes of honestbrew and PH carry a few different brands if you fancy a bit.

Definitely. I have been buy more expensive and different beers and just having a few over weekend. Quite enjoying it but obviously really missing the social interaction.

I`m exactly the same mate.

Although I much much prefer being in my local, same as everyone I`ve had no choice, so I`ve been buying cases of local stuff to try and support local brewers.

It`s a bit hit and miss tbh, but I`ve found some real crackers that I`m going to keep buying in the future.
