Never really liked Guinness. Had the odd can and couldn't stand it. Just had a bottle and its fantastic. It either travels well in a bottle or my taste buds have matured
The Nigerian Guineas in bottles is good stuff, much stronger and blows your socks off !
Do you know how Guinness became so popular in Nigeria? It actually has its own factory because they consume so much of the stuff - third largest market.
I know it's not your email (obviously sent by Camera) but the Jolly Miller a South Liverpool pub? It's West Derby, which at a stretch is the boundary.

Think Guinness was imported wherever the British stationed soldiers, so that's how it came to be in Lagos. Not sure beyond that, but you're right as to the popularity of the stuff over there.
Nigerian advertising rules were at the time (well... still are) incredibly lax with no obligation to make fair statements or promises.
So they made adverts with massive, physically fit black men stood there with a drink and pretty much said, "Guinness will make you strong like this."
It's popularity went through the roof and even when they were told to tone it down a bit they come up with adverts like this. The legacy is it's still hugely popular.

It is, but stuff like the chips are cooked properly, the pies, meat etc come from local places ( or did last time I was there pre virus )
