Beer, revisited

Your verdict ?

Both good in different ways. The Cryopop was very juicy and mango-ey, despite all the fruit flavor coming solely from the hops. It was very good, especially when very cold. The biggie 'smores was obviously quite different--either a so-called "breakfast stout" or, for me, a late-night sipping beer. Graham cracker/chocolatey and can be enjoyed even when slightly cool, not cold.

Updated top 5 (or so) brews I would like in my hand tonight:

1. Franziskaner. My first love.
2. La Fin du Monde. I don't believe in last meals, that's a sicko kind of thing. But if you're into that this should be on your list. Well, it should be on your shopping list as well, but damn the distributors who don't want to bring it where I live! (Texas isn't far, though, and they sell the stuff.)
3. Three Philosophers by Ommegang. Not even remotely excellent among quads, which have a high bar, but it's still very good and this is a good brewery. See above re: local distribution.
4. Love Street by Karbach. Dumb name for a very drinkable bear. Also, local and easy to get.
5. Bomb! by Prairie. Just like it says on the tin. Sit down before drinking. An excellent brewery that is not afraid to try out weird ideas.
6. Tank 7 by Boulevard. Not my favorite saison, but very good and a very good brewery.

I think we'd all like to be round at yours if they are on the menu. I am a big fan of Prairie and Bomb is one of my favourite stouts. Sadly a rarity round here. Three Philosophers too. Lovely stuff.

Haven't had a Ringwood beer for ages, went down a treat.

I saw these in Costco today and bought a box as I haven’t had it in years. It’s confortanly better than Peroni Nastro but nothing amazing.

This was the stuff I was mentioning a few weeks ago. For a mass-produced lager, it's a good un', but still a mass produced lager.

I think I've heard of only two of those on that list. I'm very familiar with Ommegang, which is a great brewery. I had inadvertently stumbled upon them when I was up in New York for a border collie thing about 15yrs ago and the brewery was having an Octoberfest so we hung out there for a day or two. Hennepin is probably my favorite of theirs, and Rare Vos is also great. I have also had Franziskaner; I love a good weissbier Will have to chase up the others on that list at some point.

The brewers are all North American so you should be able to find them. Karbach may be harder to locate.

2. Unibroue, near Montreal
4. Dallas?
5. OKC
6. KC
