Beer, revisited

I don't think I've ever had their wheat beer before:

Its really nice actually, a little spicy and quite a bit of various fruit flavours going on. Will have this again.

I was in Belgium back in 2002(ish) and they were talking about how it changed dramatically after they were bought out.

Have a try of their Dunkel Weissbier if you ever get the chance. I'd describe it as having an eclectic taste as it's all over the place, in a nice way.
Paulaner is IMO the best Hefeweizen of all the major breweries over here IMO. Both the Dunkel and the normal. Better than the likes of Franziskaner and Erdinger IMO. There are probably smaller breweries that do better ones but Paulaner the best of the big ones I reckon.

Nah, it's not great but certainly not the worst. Not even on this page.
Cant believe all these canned fruited, sweetened beers and hipster Pale Ales get good reviews on here whilst this gets 'flushed down the drain'
There are some absolutely honk ales out there for sure. There was an ill fated pub in Birmingham (the Pint Shop - https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/whats-on/food-drink-news/pint-shop-bennetts-hill-becomes-18565237) that specialised in hipster beers, including a ton of fruit beers on tap. The rhubarb beer was an affront to humanity and cost near £6 a go. My friend who brought it described it as one of the worst decisions of his life. He meant it too. Unsurprising it closed, they blamed covid and lock-downs, I think it was because it was very very bad.
