Because the British public by and large, won`t pay for top notch lager and would rather drink, mass produced dishwater, like Carling and Fosters.

I'm sure if the folks that put all the effort into the Pale Ale explosion , got their acts together they could come up with a decent British lager.
I like the Irish Hop House 13 ( unfortunately they stopped exporting it to the UK ) surely someone could make something similar here.

I don't know a single person that drinks Carling or any of the other pish on offer.

There are quite a lot of good English lagers but as mentioned above, most people are prepared to pay a bit more for 'just a lager'

I can't find one tbh ( & it's not for the want of trying ) ?
One or two of the smaller brewery's have been just about OK, but the big mainstream companies are pure crap.

None are of the quality of the German , Belgian or even Spanish lagers.
