Very much agree. This one didn’t seem to have much at all. I only noticed it (very slightly) after I read it on the label.
A lovely pour tonight, rice lager 
Good but not great, a Japanese stout. Tasted more like a dark lager, no big aftertaste like a stout should have. It had good flavor that ends quickly. Not bad but not what I expected. 
Solution:
that's not a skill I have, which should be added to all of the other skills i lack

Not bad, more legs than the regular, richer, less of a wheat beer actually, but then just wanders into being a fairly standard Belgian.

Another cracker, from the Big Bog Brewery in Speke :
Swampy 4.7%.
I’m not usually a fan of ruby ales, as they can be a bit heavy, but this one was velvet smooth and served in tip top condition.

Same here, have to look after that.
It was served in perfect condition, which definitely helped.
From past experiences with ruby reds, it seems that they can be quite tricky to look after, as I`ve had many more bad pints, than good, despite being in establishments, that are known for looking after their beer.
