Beer, revisited

The ale is crap in there.

I don’t know what they do to it, but it’s just not right.

The White Horse over the road, is much much better.

We get a pint in the White Horse and take it over the road, to the beer garden lol
I always assumed the White Horse was were you sent your photos of the pumps from.

The Gardeners Arms mainly.

The beer is always good in the White Horse, but it’s quite pricey.
It must be 40+ years since I went to The Gardeners , in my minds eye it’s still Greenalls ale and those cylindrical dispensers that you used to flick the lever across per half pint, I lived off Picton rd but my schoolmates were Woolton and Allerton so it was more convenient for them. I’ve never been in the White Horse and only once in The Cobden , every year when the weather picks up I think I should get the bus back to the village and have a wander , see if Bruce Lee or the confessions films are still on at the Picture House.

The Cobden has the best selection of ales on and the cheapest with it being a free house, but the landlady / owner is a bit too fierce for me and patrols the pub, like a security guard.

A lad I drink with, who’s retired and a no threat to anyone, got barred for putting his feet on a bar stool lol
