I've drank both, many times in the Tap when it was a top pub, but again I didn't correctly label them as Danish ales as they were brewed in town.View attachment 18345
Keep an eye out for this in the supermarkets - Faxe Lager.
Used to be sold on draught in Cains pubs ( RIP ) and was a cracker in the Summer .
It had an evil big brother made by the same people - Red Erik. Turbo charged Danish Red Lager.
Absolute loopy juice !
Maybe I'm a bit pedantic when it comes to location of beers - I like the genuine article. That and I forgot about both of them *rolls eyes*
We use to get a pint of Faxe at last orders and one of their monstrous 1litre tins: you'd drink the pint and then have the can for the walk home.
Once you'd had a few (especially a few Cains FA) you needed two hands to drink it. The Red Erik was utter loopy juice which did strange things...
Five pints of that was like drinking ten pints of something else, so credit to the lad who drank eleven. Alcohol poisoning anyone?
I remember having a fair few Red Eriks in Kelly's on Smithdown Road and having to attempt to walk home to Mossley Hill all by myself.
Pretty sure I bounced off most things on the way home before collapsing on the living room floor. The missus was not best pleased!
