Beer, revisited

Mate we're the masters at it.

When the big American brewers come over for the festivals they head straight to the nearest pubs with the best Real Ale.

It's funny because British Real Ale is the holy grail for them while it's almost becoming an after though over here.
Which is crazy because the yanks usually complain about “warm brown beer” that the Brits drink but have no problem spending their entire lives drinking chemical piss like Busch light or Budweiser

Really excellent, traditional IPA (ie not a citrus hop bomb) with a rock candy profile from Boneyard brewery in Bend.

Mrs d had another drier but equally impressive one from Ninkasi in Eugene.

I know its mad ha...The ones who've actually got a clue in the US about beer see our cask conditioned Real Ale as the Holy Grail.

It's gone full circle in a sense because they took our IPA and Pale ale recipes and created the craft boom as we know it today.

I got on the Ale a couple of years back with one of the owners of the Florida brewery Cigar City at Whitelocks in Leeds, and he proceeded to tell me as much as the top brewers try to master it over there they just can't quite get it down.

I partly think its down to our water myself.

Whitelocks (Turks Head) is my favourite pub on the Brigate.
Struggled to the bogs in there a few times.

Yeah the stairs take some navigating 😂

Other than the old Victorian pub I ran in Soho called The Lyric it's by far my favourite pub in the Country.

It's got everything mate, beautiful building, great well conditioned cask, nice food, decent staff...and then Obviously the Turks Head next door if you want to take it up a notch Craft beer wise. Love it with all my heart.
