...I think Godfrey will prove to be our best long-term investment of this window. He provides what none of our other CBs have with real pace, power and ability to recover in that space behind our back four. It’s an attribute we’ve been clearly lacking.

i backed him over the weekend to get in the England Euro squad and by the end of this season I think it will be a matter of ‘who partners Godfrey’.

In all seriousness, Godfrey wasn’t on my radar but he’s exactly the type who meets our requirements. He has all the athletic capability we need, but he also has attitude. I like everything he’s said about willingness to learn. He’s humble but ambitious.

Impressed by Brands going for this under the radar player, especially if he turns out like I hope.

looks and plays like that Sanchez lad at Spurs and I rate him
There again CBs is all about partnerships ,players complimenting each other
I think Godfrey could play well with Mina or Keane but not with Holgate ........too similar
Holgate may end as a RB or as backup for Allan
He will find it hard to get in at CB as I think Godfrey has all off Holgates qualities but more physicality and a bit pacier
