Wind yer neck in lad. You gave us Mike Walker. So don't come on here saying disgraceful.

Naismith may have been good for Everton but going on his three and half years with us or should I say Hearts (where he went on loan for quite a bit of the time) he was a major disappointment and cost us not only £9.5m in transfer costs but millions in wages. For a club of our size that was a major cost for practically nothing.
Sorry but I've got to say it as it was.

As for Walker, he did a good job for us and then decided he couldnt stay working for our Chairman. As he said in a BBC programme (its on youtube) he had a difference of opinion with the Chairman as to the way forward regarding the team. He left and then he's working at Everton. Its up to the you as to what you think of Walker's management of the Everton team, feel free to express it.

Let's put it this way; there's NO argument about who was Everton's worst manager ever, and we've had Martinez, Silva, Koeman and Allardyce.

looks and plays like that Sanchez lad at Spurs and I rate him
There again CBs is all about partnerships ,players complimenting each other
I think Godfrey could play well with Mina or Keane but not with Holgate ........too similar
Holgate may end as a RB or as backup for Allan
He will find it hard to get in at CB as I think Godfrey has all off Holgates qualities but more physicality and a bit pacier
I’m not sure about him and holgate, I think it could work in certain games. Things have changed, regarding forwards over the last few years. A lot more In the prem are technical and pacey these days. So I can see why we bought Godfrey.

You still have your Burnley’s and 2x 6ft plus lamp posts. But a lot of teams now use speed and counter attacking

We all know that rat will go straight through him early on.
It is really peculiar that Robertson has gone from hero to zero in my eyes.
Best player by a country mile when seeing him play at Hull, and touted him at the time as replacement for Leighton. Then he had the RS injection and turned him into quite the big man. I dream we are four goals up seeing the game out and a fit Allen puts him up into the street end upper stand.

You make it sound like we bullied you in to buying him, and not that you came and offered us money because you were desperate for goals.

I don't blame Swansea for selling us Sigurdsson. I blame Koeman and Walsh for insisting on signing him and paying £45m to make sure it happened.

Hopefully in a few years it will all be forgotten if Dowell is a success, because you got him for buttons from all accounts.

I think at 22 and 23 thats probably true. Players do tend to get a bit better in the air (which would be the major worry) and at reading the game with age. They "fill out" bit more. Neither Holgate nor Godfrey really attack the ball that well yet, both play the % which is probably ok with 1 but not both.

However as they get older, who knows?

There's a lot of talk about signing players to sell them on. And while I tgihnk we will have to move 1 or 2 on every couple of years, actually we could begin to build a very solid and consistent defence here. Think Jagielka, Lescott, Yobo, Distin etc who were all here a number of years.

I think Godfrey's ceiling is probably slightly higher than Holgate. Both lads seem to have a great attitude though, and are what I would call "fighters". Bit of a chip on their shoulder with a point to prove. Godfrey seems the better athlete and may be slightly better on the ball.

The other alternative of course is, Holgate keeps getting better, we know City were linked a bit last year, and he becomes the next guy Pep wants to spend a bundle on to resolve defensive issues, and he goes for £50m + next season.

80m and Marcel will sit at the table and acknowledge City’s presence.
Then the negotiations will start

I'll be frank, unless Holgate really kicks on, I don't see that sort of figure being paid, but I could imagine a sizeable fee.

We have a lot of players who should want to try andmuscle their way into the England squad this summer. 3 lads in the squad currently, and Godfrey & Holgate should have half an eye on it.

I dunno, I think there's a compelling argument can be made for Koeman as well. At the very least, Walker signed several of our favourite players, including Limpar, Parkinson, Amokachi and Ferguson, and most importantly, took over a struggling side and kept us up vs Wimbledon, which will go down as 1 of the most important games in our history.

Not a fan of either like tbf.

Curious to see where he's going to play, I know Ancelotti likes to rotate a lot during Christmas but I don't see Keane/Mina getting dropped unless one of them do a massive cock up, Can see him and Allan switching a lot during the season.

Him and Allan?
I don’t see Allan being rested or dropped at all this season, he’s to important
