Without injuries I'd agree, but we need a defender urgently. Our plans have had to adapt to the injuries. Branthwaite really needs a good loan deal as well. No point him being 4th choice all season and barely playing.

Tbh id keep Braithwaite as the 4th CB. Get a cb in on loan. If we have money I'd prefer a class RB who can get forward at speed and a forward/winger who will provide cover or options up front. Dont know anything about Godfrey so seems like we are paying tge English premium for him. But if Carlo wants him that's fine

Reports in the summer that Bayern were sniffing around, quoted £40m. In this day and age £25m is like the equivalent of paying £4m before Chelsea and City inflated the market. He’s young and mouldable, I’d take him. Question is would you rather have Godfrey for £25m and see how he develops or get an established unwanted CB someone like Smalling / Jones / Zouma at £20m?

3 pretty average players you have quoted there. Until yesterday I had never heard of Godfrey. If Carlo wants him and thinks he is worth the money that is fine with me. All I was saying is if we still have money I'd rather get a RB with pace who can bomb up and down the line and a striker/ winger who would provide options up front

Honestly haven't paid much attention to him at all. Remember seeing a story at the start of the window that AC Milan were after him. Obviously was part of a shocking Norwich side last year, but also won the Championship the year before at just 19.

Will trust Brands on this one, £26m is a lot of money but he must've been encouraged by something.
