He’s young and mouldable, I’d take him. Question is would you rather have Godfrey for £25m and see how he develops or get an established unwanted CB someone like Smalling / Jones / Zouma at £20m?

I'd EASILY take Zouma over Godfrey - however Kurt Happy is probably not available for anything less than double what you mentioned.

Only first heard of him after he scored an own goal late last season and then found out he’d pretty much played all their games.

Seems a lot of money with English tax included, £8mil more than Llorente who went to Leeds and is an established defender

Tbh id keep Braithwaite as the 4th CB. Get a cb in on loan. If we have money I'd prefer a class RB who can get forward at speed and a forward/winger who will provide cover or options up front. Dont know anything about Godfrey so seems like we are paying tge English premium for him. But if Carlo wants him that's fine

I tend to agree on the CB front, just make and mend until Holgate and Branthwaite fit. AS you say look for a RB. If Carlo wants him well Ok but then we have 5 CBs!!!!

Do not want any of them, rather have Godfrey but also rather we held on until our injured two have recovered.

He is a centre--back not a centre-half. He is only six foot tall and right footed.

To my mind he is another Holgate.

I bow before Carlo but I agree with lampard's recent viewpoint that centre backs need to be powerful
players who can head the ball.
