A player who can play 2 or more positions doesnt need to be fixed to one of them.

Militao can play right back...as he has done for both Porto and Madrid.
Is that the player that doesnt play for Real Madrid?

So currently he only plays 1 position, the bench.

Holgate is just as good as Militao.

@Zatara will still be saying we need to sign CBs in the Summer tho.
@Zatara I'd give zatman the keys to the treasury if i could. Just to see who he would sign, when he realises that 99% of young promising players have never heard of an Everton and would sooner drink battery acid than pull on the RBJ. ;)

But seriously, not only do we have depth at CB we also have a range of different types of CB. I'm really happy Carlo appreciates the defensive side of the game as well as the attack. (Because he is not a complete moron like Bobby, Silva and Koeman et al.)

The problem with signing young prospects is that the rate in which they kick on is quite shocking.

If you looked back at the 50 or 60 players Zat suggests we sign every year, only like 2 out of the 300 or so have ever really turned into a quality player.

How bad must Norwhich’s other defenders have been btw?

This lad gets through the work of 2 players on his own, covering both CB and LB positions when Digne was caught further up.
Same with Doucoure and Watford. Having to do the leg work of Himself, Gomes and Sigurdsson last night. Watford were BAD.

Ramos / Varane start for Madrid and Militao is another of Zidanes victims.

Suppose you felt James was akin to Bernard eh...

In this case though both Holgate and Militao are very good players and id be chuffed with both in the squad.

Players see money + manager + club + league/competitions + location.

I imagine we tick alot of boxes for them.

Intetesting arithmetic there...

Tbf their manager was stubborn in his tactics and tried to do the fabled 'carry on from what took us up' approach. Backfired miserably. Their midfield was also shockingly poor.

But it's a good point, when you consider Newcastle paid big for their LB and we're apparently also chasing Aaron for big money at RB.

Find it mad how all the football MENSA lads who frequent the transfer threads wanted us to go out and blow loads of dough on Aaron’s, but I don’t remember any of them suggesting Godfrey.
In a full Premier League season and half a Championship season he has been involved in 2 goals, 1 assist and 1 goal, in 63 games.

I mean, sure, lets spend 60m on a fella no better than Holgate.

Norwich will also likely get promoted, struggling to remember the last promoted side that sold players, I mean I'm sure its happened, but I don't recall many.

Was just looking up Dolberg to see what he's up to these days...

Personal life

On 16 September 2019, Dolberg reported to the police that his luxury watch at an estimated value of €70,000 was stolen. Following a police investigation, in which the police recovered a surveillance video showing the culprit stealing the watch, his teammate Lamine Diaby-Fadiga confessed to the crime ten days later.[20] Diaby was later sacked by the club.[21]

WTF?

Hadn’t a clue about Godfrey but he looks an absolute cracker. Makes me feel a lot less anxious when he’s on the pitch!

It’s usually the forwards who can get me out my seat during the match In anticipation of something special. Think Godfrey is the 1st defender who can, especially when he goes on one of those surging runs.
