I think if you come on cold, as a sub, and need a few minutes to get up to the speed of the game - especially at a time when you’re a defender and the oppo are chasing an equaliser - you’re going to get found out. We know he’s a boss player, who just had a stinker at a really inopportune time.
My fume lies solo with Carlo and his silly third sub on this one. King running around like a headless chicken at RW would have at least given their attackers down that side one more thing to think about, rather than JPG stood in the middle of the park doing less than nothing.

Evil graph to interpret - one implication is that Digne faces more attempts per game.
If Coufal is facing 2.7 attempts per game to Godfrey's one and letting half of the attempts through, I shudder to think how bad the rest of the defenders in the league must be against the dribble.

Without having properly looked at the graph, I assume he means that if they are the 30 best, the stats for the players outside that must be very bad.

Seems there's a filter on the players though which narrows it down. It's just another of those "can't dribble past VVD" annoying stats. Like Godfrey is so high IMO because he's like a bullet train; people have dribbled past him but he's recovered to take the ball before the attacker gets it again.

Weird scale on that graph, but it reduces along the bottom, so I would assume that the further right the player is the less they are dribbled past, ie, Godfrey 0.3 per 90 min, so he’s the least likely to be dribbled past.

Agreed. His consistent form this year is making one of Mina and Keane look expendable, and also putting real pressure on Holgate to improve.
If Godfrey can keep this level of performance up and continue developing, I expect we'll see a contract extension in January 2022 to coincide with his birthday. Next step after that could be captaincy?

We're rapidly approaching prepare for the future status with the end of this season and once we get there he should play the rest of the games at CB. I think it'll tell us a lot one way or the other.
