As much as i hate international football, we all have seen how good for Everton and how good he has been for England u21s to know that for me he should be in the full England squad all the time and not just because they have added extra plyers in before they cut the squad on June 1st

Dont like our players playing for England tbh normally turns their heads.

Even DCL doesn't put much shift in these days and just expects the ball to come to him.

Hopefully his hunger doesn't go with him thinking he's made it.

Godfrey leaping ahead of a few players here due to the fact he can play comfortably anywhere along the back four.
Very important to have some options/flexibility in your squad for a tournament.

I’d have Coady over Mings personally, especially in a major tournament.
Better defender, better passer, cooler head and temperament, more intelligent.
I’d have neither starting though.
Godfrey has no chance of going but I think it’s a sign that once this tournament is over, he will be in the England squad.

If you’d said at the end of last season that Godfrey relegated with Norwich was better than Holgate not many would have bought it. Lots of people were touring Holgate for an England cap and future Everton captain because he was playing well. His form has fallen off a cliff the second half of this season though, as has Keane’s. Hopefully this is a wake up call for both of them if they haven’t made it.

...I had no hesitation in saying Godfrey was better than Holgate. Even when his stock was high, I have consistently said Holgate is never a starter but is fine to have in the squad. I also said when Godfrey signed that he’d be recognised as the clubs most effective defender by the end of the season.

Holgate was surely never a consideration for England & I have always thought Keane is very fortunate to have had international recognition.
