2020/21 Ben Godfrey

Seems like he's still flying under the radar of other clubs fans. Most seem to not really know much about him still, hence why there aren't any louder shouts for him to get an England call up.

....he was always better than Holgate and was always going to be better than Keane.

If you’d said at the end of last season that Godfrey relegated with Norwich was better than Holgate not many would have bought it. Lots of people were touring Holgate for an England cap and future Everton captain because he was playing well. His form has fallen off a cliff the second half of this season though, as has Keane’s. Hopefully this is a wake up call for both of them if they haven’t made it.

Surprised by that (not because I don't rate him). Suspect it'll be the initial squad then cut for the main though.
Still a nod from Southgate though.
My thoughts whenever a young Everton player starts mixing with others in national squads is that mischief abounds. I reckon Ben has a bit more about him though.

Maguire is an injury doubt so it only leaves Stones as a definite choice. Dier has been in lots of squads but has had a poor season. Mings is the other name in the frame. If Southgate is looking at 5 CBs in the squad to play three at the back then I’d say that Maguire Stones Dier Mings Godfrey could well be the 5. Difficult to make a case for any of Keane Tarkowski Konsa getting in instead.

Yeh it's just because he's never been invited to the group before.

Why didnt ya tell me Eggs man lol

...i did highlight it on here, Matey, and quite a few posters had a little interest.

I actually backed him to get in the squad just after he signed, I was that sure he would quickly impress. Saying that, I backed John Stones @ 66-1 after he made his debut & he was one of the last two sent home, I expect similar here.

He would be good in that squad being able to play in more then one position, hope if he is picked in the initial thing he isnt one of theose who they gets rejected
