That injury looks like it's took away that first yard of acceleration from him, top speed he strolled up the left hand side yesterday like a thoroughbred but in straight one on one's he's being left behind, Johnson yesterday and a few times against Arsenal.
Tenacious ✅
Headless ✅

That's just match fitness, more about speed of thought. It'll come with game time.

His dad was a rugby league player wasn’t he. Ben has made a more lucrative career choice but can’t help but feel he’d have made a better rugby player than a footballer.
Yes I believe so, he does look like he has the build of power/strength/pace which yes is probably more suited towards running the line in RL, seems to lack the technique/skillset for football. I mean he started out as a midfielder and I can't quite get my head around that tbh.

Let's be honest he was crap, match sharpness perhaps, but that doesn't excuse his positional sense, for all Mykolenko faults going forward he wouldn't have got roasted like Godfrey did yesterday. Mykolenko will come straight back in.

In the grand scheme of things Godfrey doesn't seem to have a long term future at centre back, injury's have derailed the early promise he showed under Ancellotti, himself and Holgate are utility players now, and that's never a good thing.

I think he is crap. Not strong enough, positioning sense is awful. He should not be a starter. I will have Robinson back.

Mykolenko is awful defensively tbh.

Very poor for their opening goal. His positional sense seems all over the place and offers nothing going forward.
Given the need to score to win matches I think Dyche has to think how to play 2 up top without wakening midfield
I'd try 352.

Headless like Kilbane but admire his confidence running with the ball. Positional sense nowhere near what is required at this level but a rough diamond with glimpses of what could be.

The problem playing him at left back is his instinct/desire to move centrally...

Case in point being in a cab position nowhere near Johnson for their equalizer
