Again, like far too many of our squad, this lad has no football intelligence whatsoever. When I think of the finest Everton players, one thing most had was guile. Call it "football smarts". Think Sheedy and Steven. Yes, loads of skill - but without a keen brain they would have been John Oster and Peter Beagrie.

Agree on that and it kind of winds me up that this still appears to be the selection process for footballers in this country. We value physicality over technical quality.
