Quite literally fist pumped the air at that goal saving clearance. How important could that prove to be? I mean, if Burnley scored on the stroke of HT it would have given them such a morale boost.

Just important as if Pickford had saved a pen at that stage ..

A goal could have totally changed the momentum of the game , it was a huge moment

If he's on a modest enough salary then of course he's definitely worth keeping. Can slot in at left back and a very steady understudy at CB. I doubt anybody would come in with £20m for him either. Obviously though in our financial position we shouldn't turn down any decent offer for him, but the price would need to be right. Rather lose him than Branthwaite but that's a given.

Why does everyone believe DM is easy to play? It's an extremely skilled specialist position.
Easy enough to see, too. Watch some footage of Busquets flying around and destroying everything while still distributing flawlessly.
Then watch some old footage of Michael Bradley flailing around back there for the US.

DM demands a lot more than just tackling. A DM cannot make bad giveaways, because those have a way of turning into goals against. Meanwhile, it requires more or less every skill in the game. A DM has to have at least as much positional sense as a CB, be able to dribble forward into space if it's offered, get rid of the ball on target on demand, and serve as the first outlet option. A top-shelf one can also contribute on set pieces and bomb the odd one in from outside the box.

A good one makes the CBs and AMs look good, and a bad one makes those same players look bad.

He's not Gareth Barry. Or even Lee Carsley.

Think he would be a decent DM.
Not a hope lad, nowhere near good enough. He's a man marker, will probably play against City and annoy Haaland like last year. Godfrey's man attributes are pace and power, he was bought when this those attributes in mind and hoping he would develope. Probably not helped by playing left back for so long under Carlo. That really suited him because he didn't have to go forward as Carlo loved the low block. Himself and Keane looked like world beaters
