There was no scrambling, he had 2 very good offers from Napoli before even talking to us. He was talking to Fiorentina, Napoli, us and Fenerbahçe at the same time. Celtic and Palace both sounded him out as did Valencia in the summer in which he gave a very frank interview with the Spanish press saying he would go back as long as they can match his ambitions. Heck even if he didn't sign with us, he had a lot of options, he could have even waited until September and walked back in to St James Park.

I seem to remember you telling us he had offers, from teams in the top 4 of 3 of the top 5 leagues in Europe. What has happened to these offers?

With respect mate, I'm not sure anyone can believe anything you come out with.

Stop saying “us” you freak

How can I show you the offer.

He was offered a Director of Football role with Napoli. He turned it down saying he was too young for that role. They then came back with a year managers position, followed by a year DOF role.

You are right to say you will not be able to show something that simply doesn't exist. Not a chance in hell a club like Napoli consider washed up Benitez now. He's been outed as a fraud.

I never said that. I said he had offers from 3 of the top leagues in Europe, before he joined us.

You mentioned that he had offers on the table, while at Everton from teams from 3 of the top 5 leagues in Europe of at least then same stature as Everton (so teams who had won at least 9 domestic league titles). When pressed on who those sides were, you never said. I suspect because it was complete fiction.

He's a great coach. That wasn't the problem.

What we saw wasn't great coaching though. A great coach doesn't take a side on it's worst run in at least 25 years. Or take a side that was a 59 point a season side, and have them winning 1 game in 14 or whatever.

I think he's a poor coach, probably a good tactician.

His issue, aside from being very average, is it was a bad fit. Nothing to do with Everton/Liverpool thing. But essentially wanted us to play like Burnley. We are not Burnley though, so are bad at that. But also, we are not a top team, who can allow him to bring out some of his tactical awareness. We were in a terrible sweet spot of a group of players who lacked either the tactical discipline or skillset to be able emulate his game plan.

He's too pigheaded and arrogant to see that this was a problem.

Why can't you answer who you support you massive sad weirdo?

If you don't support the club but support the manager then just say.

Your a massive wrongun you scruffy knobhead and you are a knobhead. You know you are and I actually feel sorry for you, knowing your a massive helmet.

He was way worse than I expected. He will definitely have some culpability if we get relegated. I would say it will be shared between Moshiri, Siggurdson, Benitez, Lampard and the players.
