Because the goalkeeper touched it into Ritchie’s path.

My understanding of the “assist” stat business is that the ball must go directly from the “assister” to the goal scorer in order for it to count as an “assist”.

Was chatting to a city fan yesterday. He asked me why Bernard hadn’t been playing for us. I said he’d been injured. He went onto to describe how good Bernard was at Donesk against city in the champions league. A proper player he said, early days but the indications are that he’s right.

He was a star in the Ukraine and every time I watched European Cup games involving
his team he was a clever, nippy forward and intuitively I felt that he would be too good for EFC
but no-one wanted to pay his weekly wage demands and here he is.

Richarlison is the biz.. a good bit of mongrel and lots of talent.. he lined Morgan up for the red card..

and Gueye fits that bill. Throw in Siggi and its a Top 5-7 spot for me
