When we got him I felt he'd be our most exciting signing since Kanchelskis. Really showing that. As good as Peinaar but probably a bit quicker, but perhaps crucially doesn't look as dependant upon having the same left back behind him to get the best out of him.

He also looks a player that we have lacked post Arteta/Peinaar/Osman, a lad who wants to dominate the ball. We have a lot of players who will do their best work in 1/2/3 touches whereas this lad can just take control of the ball.

Wonderful to watch and he will make lots of chances for us.
The more I see him the more he reminds me of Juninho. Obviously his size and build are very similar, but the way he plays the game too. Loves to have the ball at his feet and instinctively knows when to release it. I had a reserved excitement when we signed this guy as I was a bit concerned he may struggle in the premier due to his slightness. But I knew when I first saw him in the flesh against West Ham that he'd be fine.

..he’s 5ft 5in and has come through the system in as rough an environment as Brazil. He might be small but I reckon he’ll be tough as teak. That alone makes me think he won’t be found wanting for attitude.

I saw all i needed to see in the WHU game, when the rest of is bigger team meet were being physically bullied the smallest man on the pitch stood up and said no.

He doesn't get bullied because his brain and footwork means he's always finding a yard of space. You can only get roughed up by someone if they can get near you to do it.

He and Richarlison are special talents. They're players that when the game is finished you can't wait to watch them again next week - you can count the amount of players Everton have had like that since the 80s on one hand.

The Leicester goal cam from him giving the ball away.....if that was Ross, he would have been blamed for that goal.

Who cares about Barkley? Bizarre point. Why are you trying to score points?

He made a mistake but 25 yards from the opposition goal. Not in our defensive third. We had plenty of bodies to regroup. We didn't. Gueye committed to the challenge and didn't win it. Kenny got rinsed 1 v 1. It was a bad goal to concede but several players could have done better, not just Bernard.
