Best city in the world?

London has been the best for me, but keep in mind it's the only place in England I've spent enough time in to really judge. Absolutely phenomenal city though.

I love to visit London. Loved living there before wife and kids .. love visiting with them.
Copenhagen is the coolest city in Scandanavia..

For me London > NYC.

But Cape Town folks… i haven’t met a non Saffa who visits CT and doesn’t straight away start googling property. Cape Town wins.

Definitely a lot of places left to visit..

^Sorry realised the original question was best city in the world that you could live. Vienna would be up there for me, places like London or Paris are better for tourists but wouldn't want to live in either.

Tell me about it, I was there recently. If your income supports it, I'd say the extra expense is worth it for being able to live there.
Yeah my brother lives there. Even taking into account the high rental prices, the general cost of living, the fires, floods, brownouts - he is adamant that there’s no other place he’d rather live.

I genuinely see zero draw to living in London. Most of the city is extremely scruffy and full of tourists. It has some quality areas like Greenwich, but living anywhere in London would be one overpriced hassle.
You could live in London for years and never meet a tourist. Generally speaking tourists stick to very specific areas (like Greenwich for example), and if you live there you avoid those places like the plague. It’s why questions like this are so hard to answer, what’s good for a few days or weeks and what’s good as a permanent thing are totally different.

New York stole my heart the one and only time I holidayed there in 2007, in the run up to Christmas

Liverpool will always be home as I’m born and bred here

Chester is one of my favourite places to visit for a day out, I’d eventually get bored if I lived there though unless I did some really deep diving beyond the shopping areas
