Best cooked breakfast you ever had

When I visit relatives in America I love to go to the diners for breakfast there. You can fulfill all your gluttonous breakfast fantasies there.

When back home in the UK there's a budget-friendly greasy spoon in Brighton I like to go to.

Just before it was sold and shutdown for on going renovation, ( 2021 ) stayed the night in the wonderful Kirkstone Pass Inn, Cumbria.

The morning after I was running in a trail race nearby.

There was only me staying and the race was around midday, so I didn`t need to be up really really early like I usually do for these races.

The night before, I asked the owner, who was an all round top fella, if it would be possible for him to do me a breakfast, that would see me through to the start of the race.

That was a really big mistake, as he joined me for breakfast in the morning and presented me with a steak plate, with a cooked breakfast, that was the size of a mixed grill on it - 4 x sausages / 2 x eggs / 4 x hash browns / a mountain of beans / mushrooms / tomatoes and to round it all off a full rack of toast.

He sat with me whilst he had his own breakfast, chatting away, so out of courtesy and with being sat next to me, I had to eat the lot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I`ve never been so full in my life and was genuinely worried about throwing it all up during the race.

However, a lie down in the car for an hour or so, prior to the race seemed to do the trick

Am I hearing right?
American breakfasts are grim.

‘Would you like extra sugar on your fat?’

‘Why yes please! This food is clearly not unhealthy enough. Can I get a big jug of liquid sugar to come with it?… and a complementary sub machine gun of course’

Terrible take

One could argue that literally the only thing us Yanks do correctly is breakfast.

:D
