* The Blade Runner soundtrack is up there with the greats.
Best way to listen to this type of music mate.Fair enough. I only ever saw Tangerine Dream once ( at the Empire ) and I was totally off my box on acid, so not a lot really registered tbh.
I like some of the film soundtracks that they did and in particular - The Keep ( very good book too )

Going back to my vinyl days but did you ever listen to Aphrodite's Child 666. Haven't heard it for years and I guess it may have aged.
Also, if you haven't heard it already, check out Alpha from Albedo 0.39. Classic Vangelis.
A long long time since I listened to it but the combination was a little strange as I remember. That's why I think it may now have dated.Vangelis and Denis Roussos lol
2. Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation (still sounds like it was made in the future. Best track: Speedway)
lots of votes for Daft Punk but I think you're the first to actively mention them in any way. not my thing but i can see the appeal.

I'd have to say the Prodigy. I'm not sure there's many acts to have had there longevity in the history of electronic music, and still going very strong today.
It can be argued whether their music is as good as their earlier stuff, but their live show is as good as ever. People still go mental. They are utterly brilliant live.
Another electronic band I liked is the Shamen. They did some top draw tunes in the late 80s early 90s and were certainly the first band to come out of the early dance scene to perform live. Their Synergy shows were amazing.
I linked the Shamen's Re:evolution earlier in the thread. Still sounds amazing.
Prodigy I find peaked with Jilted, with Experience & Fat both showing some classics, chiefly Weather Experience, Hyperspeed, Smack & Climbatize. My problem is that Liam stopped experimenting with epic instrumental electronic breaks-tekno. There was more focus on the two MC's doing their rappy/shouty thing, thanks to the success of Firestarter. Liam also went for more guest vocalists to fill the gaps.
So for me there's no decent Prodigy album after the first 3, as they all lack that sci-fi electronica which made me love them.

Maxi Jazz on the other hand, still somehow manages to defy his age
Maxim is our man, Maxi Jazz is the Faithless MC.
