Loved kraftwerk back in the day,
cabaret of Voltaire decent. As well.
Actually quite liked sparks as well and Gary numan who I thought had a lot of decent stuff.
Warm leathette is one of my all time favourite tracks.
Liked early Ultravox.
John foxx, in the garden album was really good as well.

Devo and Magazine on your favourites list too ?

Early Ultravox, pre Midge Ure was very good.

Yep like both of them.
I have got a bootleg album with Howard Devodo with the buzzcocks, got it under the counter from probe, fella in there offered three times what I was getting it for but the owner said I would sooner give it to a fan , not somebody to make money out of, wouldn't get that in a shop these days.

Ha. Pete Burns of all people did that for me with Spiral Scratch, lad next to me offered a fiver and Burns said 'no, he gets it because he asked for it so he knows what it is, you don't have a clue...'.
Strangely I was never a Devoto, Magazine fan later.

Cabaret Voltaire is a good shout. Warm Leatherette is the first thing I downloaded in digital. Years ahead of its time. ;)

Or New Order either.

But the correct answer, is the ones who started it all - Kraftwerk.
Sorry mate. I normally agree with you on all things musical, but Tangerine Dream were the ones who started it for me. Kraftwerk, who I also love by the way and would have been my second choice, have probably been more influential though, and inspired more copycat English groups such as OMD, early Human League before they became a pop group, early Ultravox, Gary Numan, and probably even Joy Division.

But I was into Tangerine Dream well before I'd even heard of Kraftwerk. I was lucky enough to have a mate at school who was heavily into the music scene and got me tickets to see them live at the Anglican cathedral in 1975. Still the best concert I've ever been to. And Stratosphere is my favourite electronic album of all time.

Fair enough. I only ever saw Tangerine Dream once ( at the Empire ) and I was totally off my box on acid, so not a lot really registered tbh.

I like some of the film soundtracks that they did and in particular - The Keep ( very good book too )
