A lot of “front men” being put forward as “vocalists” here and 3 pages in before Jeff Buckley got a mention. Has Leonard Cohen been mentioned yet? Bill Withers?
If it’s about singing range then Freddie Mercury and Jeff Buckley for me are on a different planet but that was more to do with their genetic make up and their physiology, they could hit notes others just couldn’t get near. Their voices were effectively another instrument. Marvin Gaye was another vocalist with a magnificent voice.
Jeff was also a magnificent guitar player, who sang at the same time.

Frank Sinartrà once stated Lodons Matt Munroe had a better range of a vocalist than him a former bus driver who sang in Londons pubs - made it big time a fantastic solo singing artist - my late mother's favourite..
