Alright then mcbain, try this one on for size -

"Who is paying for this stadium should it go ahead?"

Rupert Murdoch? Kerry Packer? We should get the Government to chuck in.

Why not? What else are they good for?

forget it, them big money men aren't interested in us!

the reason the kirkby stadium is so good, is not only the location is so viable for a stadium but because we ain't paying for it...

This loop idea has been hammered by an architecual expert anyway, all this propaganda put out about the emirates being on an 8 acre site and the loop being a 9 acre site...

http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/loopo-feasibility-analysis.html

if you read the thing on the everton OS you will see the emirates as a whole build needed something like 25 acres for safety and access reasons.

Yeah, itd be huge to build a stadium there no doubt. Youd get a great view driving to the shops sat arvo though....

I gues its different here, if teams want to build things, consortiums are backed by local council or government. Its the Governments responibility, because ultimatley better stadiums mean bigger sporting events for their communities.

yeh, but unfortuanatley in Liverpool the LCC only care about the red 1/8 of merseyside.

Its also been said that KEIOC's proposal is total nonsense - http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/analysis-of-goodison-option.html

and that the loop could only hold a 30k stadium anyhow...

thats those two options blown away then..

so that leaves Tescos.

Not being able to shop at tesco's, what are they like?
I mean from my impressions, which is from you guys, they dont seem very reputable. My meaning is that if they were justa normal company, like woolies or coles here, youd injure yourself to get in bed with them. There big companies with loads of money, British owned?? Thats gotta be a good thing.

Merchandise tie ins, more money, better players, and the thought of making European nights a regularity again.

It just looks like youd be crazy to pass up an opportunity to be the club with that kind of exposure. Man U were a good side, but its the merchandise that put them into the stratosphere. Could we not be witnessing that same chance?

But a highly successful one. They have beaten back the onslaught of the BIGGEST retailer in the world, Wal-Mart in the guise of Asda. To take on and beat Wal-Mart is something special! I want to be in bed with Tesco, they are a successful business.

You have to buy a really big bed for the whole of Tesco to fit in it...

Tesco are the third biggest retailer in the world behind WalMart and Carrefour. Here in the UK they have pissed over the competition to such an extent that competition regulators regularly get on their back. To think, when Leahy took over as CEO the company was languishing behind Sainsbury by some margin.

Succesful supermarket chain then.

Sounds ok to me.

Would you prefer Tesco or Emirates? Arsenal have done it, so a few other clubs.

Who has the best stadium? I drove past the Reebok when i was in the UK and that looks cool.

Stadium of Light?
Emirates?
City of Manchester?

stadium of light is one of the better new stadiums. the whole bowl deal just looks poor.

it the club can pull off 4 steep stands right over the pitch i think we will be happy. a tweak with the existing plans is important to convince me it is worthy of 'new goodison'.

i think the club have said (to their credit) that it will not be called the tesco arena or like. but naming rights will be given so lets hope it's not tarmac or danka!

Have you got an link to an official word of that?

All I know is that they will be selling naming rights and I thought that Tesco would be nailed on,

Here is my attempt, and KEIOC, if you bastards use it, I will sue you

Five minutes of work right there, slightly more than their 'professional' architects put in ;)

All those Evertonian ants(y)

i definately heard it on evertontv when i signed up and was trawling stories. it is an interesting quote. i'll try to dig it out. i'm sure they said that... although it was about 3 am when i was listening to it!

tesco in britain is like microsoft to the computer world.

yeah, they balance that with the knowledge they are looking after the red 3/4 of scandinavia.
