Beto held the ball quite well. Looking at chesting it for control. Apart from the pen I would say he had a decent game. A run of starts instead of cameos may be the making of him

As clumsy and bumbling that he is you cant argue that he's done more in one game than dom.

All in all he was ok. Spurned one good chance and scored one. The penalty was awful though and with goals at such a premium for us, we cannot afford that. He can't ever take a penalty for us again, but knowing Dyche, if indeed we do ever get another penalty, he'll insist Beto takes it... and he'll miss again.

….its the poorest team in possession I can remember. As you say, it’s basic to pass the ball to a teammate. Its largely why I think Dyche is working wonders just giving us a chance, especially with what’s happening off the pitch.

It’ll be one of the great Everton managerial achievements if we’re in the top flight next season, I have no doubt about that.

Beto took a penalty for a side that doesn’t have a defined penalty taker.

Mirallas took the ball off a player who was about as close as you get to a sure thing from the penalty spot, who was the absolutely established penalty taker.

Absolutely. Not to mention he did so after playing about 7 games worth of PL minutes spread over 7 months.

I’m really not sure he does create a lot of chances.. Have also seen him take an abomination of a penalty at that very end.

It doesn't take much the run that DCL is on but yeah he should. I thought his all round play showed improvement today even if he should've had more than one. We haven't seen a confident, settled Beto yet so at least need to see if he can build on his goal.
