I also question the logic of anyone who says a forward doesn't deserve a run when the striker who's in the team has played 54 games and scored 10 goals with an xg of 21.48. That is just woeful.

Meanwhile DCL has played 54 games in last two seasons and scored 10. That's in 3834 minutes so a goal every 383 minutes. Beto has played 1174 that's a goal every 293 minutes. Beto is new to the league and has hardly started any games; DCL has started virtually every game he's been fit to play and is used to playing in the league. No matter what way you slice it, he should have been given a run of games. He hasn't. No one is saying he's going to transform into a top striker but he'll still get more goals than DCL.

He hasnt played 44 games has he though. He's been in the squad 14 times this sesson. He's started 1 game. That doesnt mean he's played 14 games. Same as your 44.

. Consider the circumstances though. You've got one player who's used to playing in the league and starts every game versus one player who hardly plays and isn't used to playing in the league. I think with the right service he's a 1 in 3 striker. We need better than both of them if we are going to move forward.

I mean neither have been good enough. I'm not into this goals per minute nonsense, it doesn't factor in stoppage time, or that goals tend to be scored later on.
DCLs goal record isn't good enough, but it's much better than Betos. He's also a much better all round player. But if he isn't good enough, Beto certainly isn't.
It's time for the excuses to stop. 4 goals in 44 games is pathetic.

I just don't understand the excuses around Beto at all. He's not good enough for me. I don't like slaughtering people, but I don't know what he's meant to do. I don't see it.
Goals per minute in the PL, you can't make a fair comparison otherwise given the massive disparity in the amount of time they've both been on the pitch.
