2024/25 Beto

I can't see it, they have much better players and will have much more of the ball than Leicester. They'll pressure the midfield and know that Beto wants to run in behind.

Which is fine, we don't necessarily beat the top of the division, need to feast on the poor defenders at the bottom.
They had much better players last season.

I did the nerd on this so you don't have to 🤓.

Case closed.

Beto has a much higher ceiling for improvement and I feel is still a long way off starting momentum - just over a goal per game from stop-start opportunities and just two starts is a phenomenal return, up with the best. Get behind him and dump that other tried and tested diva loser with his €130k a week asap. The conversation is over.

I mean, there’s also the element of dycheball vs Moyesball. Your “nerd” doesn’t take that variable into account. Or that most of betos goals have come vs tranmere, Peterborough and Doncaster.

It’s a good start for Beto under Moyes but he has looked appalling in lots of his appearances for us and not like a £25m striker at all. Hopefully he can keep producing.

The conversation is over. Get behind Beto and get the other waster out the door asap who can't even put in a half decent performance without missing 3 other simple chances and getting injured. It's one or the other unfortunately. One wants €130k for more of the same tried and tested numbing mediocrity, the other is eager and willing. A goal a game or one in 19? Mental at this stage.

I will always back the striker who scores. Beto plays an uglier game visually, but he physically intimidates defenders and tbf though he appears clumsy he is more clinical in the box than i thought. If Moyes could use him the same way he used the austrian fellow at west ham we should be fine for the rest of the season. We will have more money in the summer to fix the striker spot. We just need him to be good enough for now.

he also plays like he cares , i like that about him.

Sensing there's a but here?

I’m all behind Beto. Ugly goals still count. All he needed was a sustained opportunity. How could he possibly demonstrate what he’s capable of in the last 10’ in the Dyche match plan? People on here have said Messi would struggle to score in that system.

In my mind, Beto has backed it up. I like Dom, but I feel that passion for the game from Beto. An appreciation for every minute spent on the pitch as if it’s a blessing.

He’s a blue and he might hit 10 goals or more before the season is through. We’re talking only half a season of match time. That’s solid. If Moyes had been gaffer from the first match, I think it would be case closed on Beto. I think he’d already be at or near 10 goals. If he could get goals before yesterday, which was basically impossible for a striker, look at what he showed already.

The way I see it, he has contributed heavily to 4 goals so far. The Brighton penalty, he scored 2 and when he parted the red seas for Doucore to score the opener. He is obviously doing something right thus far. It may not be pretty, but it too often seems like people are writing players off before they even have a fair shot. Beto needs to improve drastically. Anyone can see that. Right now though he has that chaos factor. Nobody knows how to deal with him.
