2024/25 Beto

Gets overlooked his lovely physical tussle with the cb which allowed the ball to drop to Doucs for the first btw.
He also showed superb strength shielding the ball just before the ball was played into Garner where he hit the post with his left foot

Beto causes chaos and makes things happen but also slots one on ones… let’s keep playing to those strengths!

Not sure if anyone’s said this earlier, but for both his goals, his first touch is getting his shot off.
He’s not a hold the ball up and bring people into play kind of player, but he is a willing scrapper. Just seems that the more you give him to do outside of the box, by the time he gets into the box he just goes to pieces.
Hopefully with Garner back we can get more of them through balls for him to run on to and try and finish on instinct.

I liked everything about his goals. The movement, keeping himself onside and like any good striker, he used the balls movement, composed himself, and finished first time. He doesn’t have the best first touch so this is playing to his strengths. Well done Beto! Well done!

I'm still fuming that Southampton goal was chalked off, it was a fantastic goal and toom them about 4 minutes to rule it offside.

If he was a free transfer most people's perception may alter, the investment in him is his biggest problem.
There are genuinely days where he cannot stand up straight. I get why people aren't going to champion him as the next Messi. But they go way overboard. Hell, there were a lot of games where I thought the same thing about Richy and he was a very good player for us. You have to imagine that Beto is adjusting to the pace of the league just like Lindstrom and everyone else. It isn't easy. But Beto needs to show improvement in those areas. He at least deserves a chance to show he can.

I agree he's looked worse than niasse at times but he can certainly finish a chance . Let's hope he continues
