There’s a lot more to forward play than just being a 1 in 3 forward And it’s a small sample size, we’ve seen plenty of strikers have purple patches.
I wouldn't predetermine any pick, no4r limit scope, id let them all earn a shirt and Duke it out mate - as far as im concerned Beto has seen off Dom on merit now.

I agree, those two chances he had last night were brilliant centre froward play, he had loads to do and made up huge ground to make those chances - i dont understand your comment at all, hes great off the shoulder.
He's awkward and unorthodox and that causes teams problems, he has some pace and strength and he makes good runs. He does have some pretty major weaknesses though, and even though he caused them problems in the first half he also failed to hold the ball up and relieve pressure too many times. As is often the case, there is a big middle ground between him being a completely useless carthorse and him being good enough to play every week for a team with actual ambitions.
I dont know if i agree with that either - you accept him for the strengths he has, he clearly isnt a hold up striker, his strength is off the shoulder, getting in behind and finishing with ball at feet. Hes not Dom who will do all the things you say - but cant hit a cows backside with a banjo or beat the last man.
And you know what the above is ok.
I've said before, I think we're a long way from being the sort of side who doesn't need their striker to do the donkey work. Half the team can't pass the ball, whoever plays up front will have to hold the ball up and make life difficult for defenders as a massive part of their game because otherwise we will just keep giving it back to the opposition. It's not school football, you can't just say he's a good striker because he (sometimes) finishes well, what he does for the other 95 minutes is pretty important.
I’m no DCL fan and he’s not great at holding the ball up, but he’s streets ahead. He’s one of the reason it kept coming back yesterday and why Liverpool dominated the 2nd half

But it doesnt have to be all or nothing, we have two in the squad at them moment, its ok to say Dom and Beto with attributes and we can utilise both depending. I actually disagree with you mostly here as well, there are real green shoots of progress in our transition, Beto and Charly linked up wonderfully and intelligently yesterday and i think Illy adds to that, we compliment it again from the right side and add a bit of threat at full back in the summer i think it changes dimensions in this team - really dont agree with much of your posts here mate.
I think you are being immensely harsh on Beto and his all round play hes dominated a lot of games and put in some great dominant centre froward performances of late - with or without goals.

Ok mate, you're right he's better than Shearer and we're on the verge of overtaking City as the league's best passers.
