Freak is maybe a bit harsh but even that season he wasn't consistent. He was on 11 goals after 11 games which is unbelievable, but then only got 5 more for the rest of the season. So for two thirds of the season he scored at a rate consistent with what he's done for the rest of his career. It does seem almost undeniable now that he just had an amazing purple patch as strikers sometimes do.

I think he will be solid in the counter attacking. Brighton are playing the same exact way we are sitting deep so we are very lucky that Beto drew that penalty as I could not see us scoring otherwise. That is the kind of chaos he can bring and it can be game changing at times.
I'm not saying we'll finish 4th again like we did when Bent was leading the line but if he can get him to be as effective as he was for that one season then I'll take that

Beto can do a job but he needs the anti-Beto playing behind him. Doucs is not doing him any favours.

And we have looked miles better in the midfield since he came on. You can attribute that to Beto hanging on the last man and forcing them to hold the line. Brighton will not press as hard if they have a threat to get in behind.
