Big Friedkin Rebuild

The idea that nobody would be interested in Doucoure is another Debbie Downer dismissal. He still has utility operating at the top end of the professional game. If we don't sell him in January, it's more because we want to keep him rather than him being unwanted and valueless. Doucoure still has his suitors.

Beto and Doucoure have both been linked with moves to Roma in the last month. Whilst I'm not stating these moves will definitely happen, absolutely nobody will be surprised to see TFG take advantage of the fact that they own two football clubs.

I believe that the January transfer window provides us with a good opportunity to strengthen. I don't believe that we are in such a bad way that strengthening is an impossibility, or that we cannot even benefit from selling to buy.
I’m sorry, I just can’t believe anyone will be coming in for Doucoure in January. He’s out of contract next summer if I’m not wrong? Plus Dyche insists on playing him regardless of form - so he won’t sanction a sale even if someone did come in for him. We missed the boat to sell him to Saudi. Beto could have suitors though, I’ll give you that - though I don’t expect a favourable fee from whatever Italian/Turkish side will inevitably offer. How many 20mil pound signings have we loaned out until their contract winds down over the years?

PSR my arse, imo.

There are so many workarounds. Not least the old fashioned tactic of selling a player so that you can then by a new one.

Getting decent cash for Beto and Doucoure means having a decent transfer budget without any investment whatsoever.

There lies your answer - decent money for a 34-year-old who has already turned a lucrative deal down to move to Chinese football & a CF who is division one level ..... - wages will also have to be found for replacements - we simply sign players who are too old with no sell on value or duds ......

You woke up supporting Zat's transfer posts, now you're telling me Doucoure is a wanted man but only name Roma (whom, despite having the same owner, would be dumb to rile up the Romans by signing him).

I'm guessing you're either WUMing your face off, or high as a kite.

Either way let's just leave this as I can't take you seriously at all.

Fair enough. Lets revisit when Everton initiate the option to extend Doucoure's contract by a further year in order to command a fee in the summer, that's if we dont end up selling him in January first.

Doucoure is 31 mate. He will be 32 on January 1st.

We won't get 'decent' cash for Doucoure; I'd imagine the only suitors in January would be those looking to pick him up for £2m/£3m simply because his contract is expiring.

I remain hopeful that someone stumps up £5m or so to take DCL in January.

They're not tolerating dyche and he is not the man to keep us up, also what is the point of giving him players in January that won't either be compatible with him or the future manager?
IF Thelwell is to remain in his role when the takeover is confirmed, then the only players coming in will those who he has identified and courted. Dyche, with 6 months left on his contract (or expecting his P45 if you take the fan demand), won't have any input in their signing.

I've advocated for getting the right people in to run the club and to run the football side of the club immediately, then to make waves in June once Dyche has left and TFG's new manager is in-situ with an uninterrupted pre-season and summer transfer window.

Problem is if dyche stays and he doesn't have input in the signings will he play them if they don't meet his very specific criteria?
