Living in Sheffield, I wouldn't say it's no longer a big game... more that it just hasn't been a game at all whilst one of them are still languishing in the 3rd tier. If they were both in the Prem it would be heated for sure.
I can remember a long time back when they were both in the 3rd tier and it was still called the 3rd division and they'd get 50,000 at each derby

the merseyside derby. We dont enjoy it and the game is not seen as anything other than beating them lot again from their perspective.

City vs united- Before city was slaying their giant neighbors, now its a game of who is the richest and the passion has faded out of it somewhat.

@Yid4life, how is your game?

We have the usual 'big' games but the only one I can think of that used to have an 'edge' was us vs City. They had an unatural hatred for us since the 81 cup final. They have now moved on to bigger and better things.

Cheers, never knew that. Same as sunderland vs conventry (isnt it?).
Thinking about it, our most passionate game of the season can normally be when we play united. Not always for them but its one of those games where we normally have something riding on a win besides a top 4 scalp. Think same as spurs, that game is normally a kicking on point in our season every year because you are always capable of beating us! lol

Money is ruining today's football passion. Demonstrated in the El-Clasico, still big but nothing like what it was 20 years ago. The passion has faded away. Its why i watch the Old Firm- passion still intense, both teams need each other despite how good or bad they are.

A Rangers fan btw- not Protestant or Catholic or Scottish at all;)

Does Leeds count as foreign?
Might as well ; it's like they've been banished from the castle and every now and then they try to scale the castle walls, only to be rebuffed. Amid hails of laughter they fall back in to the midden, which now is their lot.
