This, that was the big red flag for me, regardless the reasons, regardless it was a dead rubber, no manager should be refusing to take charge of a game
Does happen, though. Klopp's done it before.

If it's a pointless match and it's a lot of travel, and you have more important games with players not travelling, it's reckless to not prioritise one of those games

Remember we had a europa game in Cyprus and sam couldn’t be arsed going so sent his assistant, literally didn’t bother going to watch the team he was managing

It was a medical thing he had already arranged before he took over the club. Hardly something to beat him to death over.

If I recall rightly we won that night pretty handily, so perhaps he should have done that regularly...

Moyes let Steve Round take charge of some games, I don’t think this is a big deal. Sam kept us up, I know the football was ugly, but it would have been interesting to see what he would have done with a full season and bringing in players he wanted, it just “quick fixes” Walcott and Tosun.

That's what he said. He's hardly going to be on that show and announce an exclusive: "I am going back to Everton" before the club does.

Oh, hang on...

Sam Allardyce is one of the names being mentioned as a potential candidate to take over as manager if the club can't get their preferred choice in until the end of the season.
Allardyce not only kept Everton up in 2017-18 but helped them finish eighth, and they have not finished higher since.
He wasn't particularly popular with the Everton supporters, though, and my understanding is there has been no contact between the former England boss and Everton owner Farhad Moshiri.
