the Tokai is a 1984 ( a 16th birthday present) lawsuit period one, its lovely, easily a match for the Gibsons and is a keeper, even when I cant play anymore if my finger joints get worse. The Tele is a Fender Mex Baja one, quite a chunky neck that feels a but urgh at first but is so comfy for my knackered fingers. That one is set up in open G tuningOh I like that Tokai. This is what my Disneyland would look like.Do you think I should buy another then lolView attachment 235684
Oh we have similar tastes. I have a nice LP standard goldtop, and wanted another gibbo so scored a lovely flying V faded a few months ago. I didn't really get on with the neck on the baja teles, mine is a mexi but has been nitro'd on the body, looks like yours. I have a dreadnought all solid Yamaha but could do with a nice parlour acoustic now.the Tokai is a 1984 ( a 16th birthday present) lawsuit period one, its lovely, easily a match for the Gibsons and is a keeper, even when I cant play anymore if my finger joints get worse. I did/do all three, and still follow Everton 100%.Buy a guitar, get a hobby, be an expert at something, do anything other than watch millionaires kick a bag of air, while other millionaires talk about it on tv. Rant over.....
Nice Gibsons, but what's that bottom right? Looks like a late-50s style rounded cutaway Junior or Special with a Junior/Special dot neck, with a Sonex type scratchplate, and changed tulip tuners.Do you think I should buy another then lolView attachment 235684
Something tells me you like Gibson's, but I don't know what really.Do you think I should buy another then lolView attachment 235684
seeing as I have derailed this thread, I think you should join in and post some pics of your guitars too, very impressive if I remember correctly.I did/do all three, and still follow Everton 100%.
I can expand on the above if you wish...
I do gravitate towards Gibsons but the fender Strat is the nicest playerSomething tells me you like Gibson's, but I don't know what really.
The big team bias in the premier league is as big as it has ever been in my lifetime.
The premier league is a laughing stock right now.
Thanks Old Blue, the bottom right is a 2018 Les Paul special DC, I changed the tuners to try and cure tuning instability, I'll try locking ones next (I bought the wrong ones). They still go for quite modest sums (around (£600) and it's great fun, it almost demands to be played punky/rock angry stuff and the P90s are beauts. If I get another electric it will likely be a les Paul or 335 with P90s but I don't gig anymore and the fingers are getting painful so probably not.Nice Gibsons, but what's that bottom right? Ooh yes please.I did/do all three, and still follow Everton 100%.

If you're a fan of one if the big clubs you've no problem with it. The kopites aside, who have a problem with everything. The big team bias in the premier league is as big as it has ever been in my lifetime.

Don't get locking tuners. All they do is hold the string in the post by means of a small circular 'pole' which holds the string to the side of the inside of the tuning peg. They are useful in that you do not need to do several winds of the string around the post, and are very handy for changing strings quickly, but other than that, they do nothing for string stability. For string stability, what needs to be done is that one wind around the string post is all that is needed. The string needs to be 'locked' against itself on the post. Then the string needs to be stretched and played for a few seconds; taken back up to pitch; stretched again and taken back up to pitch, and repeat until there is no drop in pitch after you stretch it. I did that for decades gigging, and had no problems with my Gibsons live whatever the atmospheric conditions of the venue. Thanks Old Blue, the bottom right is a 2018 Les Paul special DC, I changed the tuners to try and cure tuning instability, I'll try locking ones next (I bought the wrong ones).
