Plays best when he has a chip on his shoulder about not starting. Get him angry and throw him on, he's all hustle and bustle as a sub, but as a starter he seems to take time to get into the game as though he has nothing to prove.

Play angry Vic lad.

He wont.

He can't do it for 90minutes. He doesnt have a football brain for a striker.

I think hes only ever scored 1 goal when he's started a game and that was stoke 3 seasons ago

I think the difficulty is that he doesn't put himself about enough to be played as the main striker and he hasn't provided an assist in years, so he's not much of a wideman. Keep using him as we have been doing and lets see how he develops.

I do agree. Except....

Exhibit A - Emily Heskey.

Which hell probably want to aim to be like.

I was a massive fan of his 2 seasons ago...then he got more games, started more...you then see his limitations up front.

On the wing, hes effective and his best games have been on the wing

But as a striker, leading the line, he doesn't have the brain to make runs, find space, hold the ball, or bully defenders from the off. He does show moments from the bench when teams are stretched and tired.

Best thing he can do to see if he is a prem player is go to the championship for a season and see if he can do it there IMO

The only question is...how the piss can we get him to score from the start? Therefore making him an asset.

Even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a player 10x that of Victor, couldn't score from the outset...fortunately he always had around 3 other class strikers to knock them in incase...
