Big Vic

Yes definitely, hopefully he stays clear of injury and improves his attitude working harder etc. Chasing balls down more often!

We then mite see the Europa League Victor who gave defenders a run for their money when bought on late in games.

I agree with your sentiments mate but as he's chosen to represent Nigeria I would assume he is proud of his heritage and wouldn't object to being referred to that way.

The media don't have any interest in Everton, the commentator probably doesn't have a clue about him. Osman's been playing in the team for years and invariably gets called Liam.

I was born in the Northwest, and if I was offered the chance to play for England, i'd politely tell them I was holding out for a Nigeria call.

This is what i mean about fickleness in evertonians sometimes. For the past 2 years i have never seen see 2 positive posts in a row about vic but seen 200 negative ones. He can't score, he is lazy, has a bad attitude, he crap and can't control a ball etc etc. Then he scores 2 away goals and then everyone starts saying he's always had potential, something has clicked he has good work rate etc etc. It a perfect example of fickleness. Same with moyes was ace best in prem, now he's crap worst in prem. Some of you either need to say yeah i was wrong or stand by what you say and say when he scores he is crap and a goal does not change that.

Not been on many Football forums have you mate.

His attitude seems to be improving - if he carries on like this we'll have a decent player there I reckon. Saw him shouting at Saha to close down a Villa defender at one point!

His attitude? How do you know his attitude is changing, do you know him personally?

- Hello Mr Drebin, this is the Nigerian F.A. We would like you to play for Nigeria.

- Really? How wonderful.

- Yes, so if I could just get your bank account number and sort code....

He has all the attributes to cause defenders problems, the only massive concerns I had over him was his attitude when he got fouled. Sulking like a little girl. I don't necessarily think laziness was the problem, just a lack of fitness.

If he can stay fit and grow as a footballer and stop whinging at decisions then he could be a very useful player.

He moved to Liverpool when he was ONE.

Yes he's Nigerian but they should really be referring to him as "the Liverpudlian" or something. He's a scouser ffs.

All the English born Irish players have been constantly referred to as Irishmen for years without anyone managing to care in the slightest.

Getting outraged for stupid reasons should be left to those across the park.

Not sure what you getting at here mate so go on explain your point. No not been on many football forums, just this one everyday, and im reading a thread where people are praising victor saying he has got it yet was reading for the past 18 months that he is just the worst and will never score. It strikes a touch fickle in my opinion. If you say one thing one week be consistent and say it the next week even if he scores or say i think i was wrong. Like when i first came on this forum i was pro kenwright and defended him and could not understand the abuse he got, yet people like davek did not swain and constantly stood by what they said. I admit now i was wrong. but i will let you reply explaining why i have not been on many football forums

I think the time to really judge 'Big Vic' is when he's played about 20 games without getting injured (not that I'm confident he'd complete 20 games without a spell out!). If he's consistently contributing to the team then I'll give him the credit he'd be due. Not been his biggest fan, but I'll 'eat humble pie' if he does the business for us.

Took his goal well and worked hard yesterday. He's still got a lot to do to prove himself and live up to his ( pre-Nolan ) injury form. I hope he continues to improve and warrant his place in the squad / starting XI and proves his doubters ( me included ) wrong.

I'm certain he doesn't get himself injured on purpose. Nolan took a year out of the lad and the way his body has developed recently is most likely the reason he has incurred his recent injuries.

I'm really pleased that he's started to score goals - maybe he is a confidence player and will go on and bang in another 20 this season which would be brilliant.

However, most of his displays last season, and Bolton away is one I will never forget, were diabolical. He doesn't think like a forward or move like a forward. Or at least he didn't.

I just pray that then was then and now is now.
